I was talking to my brother the other day and he said he lives a regrettable life. That's fantastic. I have to admit that I'm proud of him. He has a house that's worth almost a million dollars, a cute 1.5 year old girl and a controlling wife. Well done sir! He gets chewed out of everything he does that doesn't revolve around here. And granted I'm not stupid, that's every relationship however it's brutal what he goes through. His wife forces him to buy an expensive house and then complains that he works all the time to pay for it. When it wasn't his idea in the first place. Now he's stuck in his job working his ass off and is forced to spend all of his free weekend time hanging out with his wife because of the fact that by the time he gets home she's asleep. At least he has his Brewers baseball (ouch!).

The reason why I bring this up is that I don't ever want to be in a position where I'm looking in the mirror, sleep deprived with my hair going gray and thinking that I made a terrible mistake 10 years ago.

Work blows don't do it.

That's a lie, work's not that bad but I'll tell you this, I DON'T want to be here. But that's neither here nor there. The biggest tragedy is that my XBOX 360 has to go back to Microsoft for scratching a 3rd game. Wonderful. With a scarce 75 days of freedom left I am forced to squander them without my $400 video game system. Talk about shitty. Not only that, I really want to play Oblivion and I can't. The game actually gets me a little scared, mostly because I play it after midnight with all of the lights out and when stuff jumps in front of me I'll admit it, I get scared. But I will tell you this, if you've ever played RPG's this is the best game yet, PERIOD. Read every other blog, website, guy with his head in the sand but still manages to play the game and they will all tell you this is the best game they've ever played in their life and it's very addctive. It's only a matter of time before this game goes online and starts controlling other people's lives.

As for the A's, well there's a few thoughts on that but I'll just keep my big mouth shut. I lied.
Andre Ethier hit his 3rd HR last night, which is just as many as Bradley but I'll tell you this, Ethier's playing right now and Bradley's (surprise, surprise) on the DL. In case you haven't noticed, Beane's wheeling and dealing have not worked out so far, Thomas, batting under .200. Bradley, on the DL. Loaiza? I didn't know that sucking ass translated into a trip to the DL. They should've just saved the 11 million in wasted salary and paid Zito. He's now getting $8 million dollars plus 7 out of the 11 million and he would resign. $60 million over 4 years would keep Zito in Oakland, fact! Hopefully the A's can get some insurance money for Loaiza and pay Swisher to stay a couple of more years, along with finding cash for Dan Haren. The real tragedy so far is Rich Harden. This guy's unbelievable and he continues to pull muscles. Talk about unfortunate. If this guy pitched all season he'd win 20-25 games, easy. We'll see what happens in the near future as Kotsay's contract is up after next year ($7 million) and Kendall's gone after this year ($11 million). The money though probably goes into the black hole called Esteban and some of the other money goes to Chavez's back loaded contract. By the way, talk about finally living up to the billing, Eric Chavez and Nick Swisher have been carrying this ballclub, imagine how bad this lineup is without their numbers?

quick post/prediction

If I were the San Antonio Spurs I would start losing games with a quickness or hoping the Lakers and Nuggets start losing so the Sacramento Kings will be far away from me come playoff time. They have a legitimate shot at making the Western Conference finals as an 8 seed. If you haven't watched them play it's time to start. They are 20-11 in their last 31 games and look at this starting 5:
Mike Bibby
Kevin Martin (who is subbed for Bonzi Wells about 5 minutes into every game)
Ron Artest
Kenny Thomas (who is also subbed for Sharif Abdur-Rahim in the same span)
Brad Miller

not the scariest line up but when these 5 are on the court would you want to play them?
Bibby
Wells
Artest
Abdur-Rahim
Miller
I wouldn't, that's an athletic frontcourt with an itchin' to kick your ass and a big back court that can handle the ball and score. Good Luck! The Spurs would get killed, a gimpy Tim Duncan, an undersized Tony Parker, Manu Ginobli getting beat up by Artest.
Then there's the Mavericks, another team that would not be able to take the physical style of play and probably wear down after a couple of games getting pushed around. If you want my first round upset it's whoever is the unlucky team is that plays the Kings.

Of course you know what this means: bet the house against them.

First, I would like to deny any of these unconfirmed reports of my death. I am still alive and breathing and have all 10 fingers. Here's the status report:
-I am in 4 fantasy baseball leagues and managed to fuck up 2 count em up TWO AL leagues. You know the league I know more about and have a better understanding.
-I am an official resident of Iselin, NJ
-I was staring at a 17 year old's ass last night like I was getting paid to do it
-In bowling I've been shooting my cock off the last 5 weeks and we've won four out of twenty games, the moral of the story... just get wasted and who cares if you win or lose.
-Purchased "Oblivion" for XBOX 360 and if you want to lose sleep and free time buy it otherwise just walk away... walk away
-Okay here's the real disaster in fantasy baseball AL leagues,
--in one league my offensive punch revolves around Mike Sweeney and Brad Wilkerson. Mind you these guys play in the same league as Gary Sheffield, Hideki Matsui, Manny Ramirez, Troy Glaus, and Miguel Tejada (i only mentioned these guys because I am in a keeper league and the other sluggers were not available at the draft)
--in the same league I drafted Todd Jones and Keith Foulke. Jones pulled his hamstring after I bid 10 on him and Keith Foulke's knees are shot. Francona even realizes that his season would be ruined if he stays with Foulke and Paplebon already saved his first game last night.
--I have Mark Kotsay, Dan Johnson, Bobby Crosby and Jay Payton on the same team, you tell me the problem
--also on the same team my second best pitcher may be Vincente Padilla. I will now wrap a plastic bag around my head, close my eyes and head off to the promised land

Well at least the A's dropped the Yanks last night 9-4. Due to the fact I don't have cable I did not see the 7th inning on but saw the highlights this morning. I can't wait for people to realize that Robinson Cano is Soriano all over again, the lazy defense, swinging at bad pitches, it doesn't even look like he's happy to be there. Plus, he's a little pull happy and if a lefty throws him a slider that breaks down and away that's a swinging strike. If you don't believe me or you're going to say "he's young and he'll learn" Wrong. Cano will not learn and the Yankee fans will not sit and wait for this kid to develop fundamentals.

Also, if you enjoy the baseball I highly recommend XM Radio, you get every baseball radio broadcast plus the music and other good stuff for 12.99 per month. That's what I call a bargain.

I need your help.

So I've decided to stop wearing deodorant and the problem of course is that if I sweat, I'll stink. But what I need your help with is, can you smell me? If you do please let me know. And of course, I know what you're going to already say but after the joking you smell like shit comments I need the truth. You smell me, tell me.

p.s. that last line sounds like it should go at the end of a PSA. NO! RUN! TELL! thanks Webster. You were like 40 when you did that.

The end of an Era.

You know every Vikings fan has something to say on this one and here's my take. The Vikes STOLE the second round pick from the Dolphins. Good riddance. He had some great numbers but wait until he plays in any big game, wait until he goes into Giants in December and faces a rabid/drunk Jets crowd, or when he has to march into Foxboro to play the Pats. He will be dead meat. He went to the worst possible scenario for himself. Good luck. I don't hate the guy in any way what-so-ever. He's a very nice guy but when the Dolphins have the ball, down 4 with 3 minutes left. Don't expect Daunte to save the day. Maybe Nick Saban will be able to work some magic with him. Look what he did with that team last year. They were not a good football team but still played hard every game and were tough versus everybody.

This combined with the signings in the offseason overhauled the offense, Chester Taylor in the backfield (who should be pretty decent in the full time role), Hutch and McKinnie anchoring the left side of the line (even though McKinnie is overrated) and that receiver core which is very well balanced gives them OPTIONS on offense. Plus a great tight end in Wiggins I mean c'mon!
Now, they have to get a QB in the draft though and have him play behind Johnson for a year. That would be the best move for this team. Get someone fresh to learn what you're supposed to do... get rid of the football. Don't just stand there in the pocket, unload the rock and don't turn it over, the plays will come.

I couldn't be happier right now, that is until the Vikes start 2-4 and I'm banging the table for Johnson to get traded and Koren Robinson is arrested for a DUI, it's only a matter of time. Hopefully not.
